Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and efficiency in public service delivery, following the launch of the Kwara State Geographic Land Information Service (KW-GIS) digital land system in Ilorin.

Speaking at the event on Monday, the Governor said the new system will revolutionize land administration by eliminating delays and manual processes that have plagued the sector for decades.

“Today marks another bold step in our commitment to innovation, transparency, and efficiency in public service delivery,” AbdulRazaq said, noting that land title applications can now be processed within two to four weeks once all conditions are met.

He explained that the platform would ensure every parcel of land in the state is digitally captured, documented, and easily retrievable, thereby boosting investor confidence and improving internally generated revenue.

Commissioner for Finance and Chair of the State Ease of Doing Business Council, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, said the initiative aligns with global best practices and positions Kwara as a leader in World Bank–supported programmes such as NG-CARES and HOPE.

Also speaking, KW-IRS Executive Chairman, Mrs. Folashade Omoniyi, said the integration of the revenue service’s online payment system with the new platform would make land registration, C of O processing, and payments seamless and transparent.

Executive Secretary of KW-GIS, Alhaji Sulyman Abdulkareem, described the launch as a milestone and confirmed the release of ₦560 million compensation for lands acquired under the Kwara Smart City project.

Project Consultant, Dr. Paul Adepelumi, said the system “moves Kwara from files to digital records, from delay to speed, and from opacity to transparency,” while Project Manager Engr. Ali Muhammad Kalot disclosed that over 20,000 plots have been digitized and more than 200 staff trained to manage the system.

AbdulRazaq urged residents and stakeholders to embrace the reform, describing it as a key step toward a smarter, more transparent, and investor-friendly Kwara State.
