The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has received a delegation from the Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU, led by its National President, Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Headquarters.
The visit provided an opportunity for the IEDPU delegation to appreciate AIG Jimoh, a prominent son of Ilorin, for his distinguished career, professionalism and contributions to national service. The delegation also commended his efforts towards maintaining peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States.
Speaking during the visit, the National President of IEDPU, ACG AbdulMalik, thanked Almighty Allah for His continued grace upon the life and career of AIG Jimoh. He described the police officer as disciplined, principled and dutiful, noting that his professional conduct reflects the values of good character and responsible citizenship.
ACG AbdulMalik also acknowledged AIG Jimoh’s contributions to the development of Ilorin and his leadership role in promoting security across Zone 2. He linked the AIG’s character and professional discipline to the values instilled at Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, an institution established by IEDPU where AIG Jimoh received his secondary education.
According to him, the school places emphasis not only on academic excellence but also on moral discipline, good virtues, sound societal values and exemplary character. He expressed confidence that AIG Jimoh would continue to discharge his responsibilities with diligence and integrity while upholding the rule of law.
Responding, AIG Jimoh expressed appreciation to the IEDPU leadership and members of the delegation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him. He acknowledged the Union’s longstanding interest in his career and thanked its members for their continued support and encouragement.
The AIG described the recognition and support as both an honour and a reminder of the responsibilities attached to public service. He reaffirmed his commitment to carrying out his constitutional duties professionally and in accordance with the rule of law, while respecting fundamental human rights and the principles of justice and fairness.
AIG Jimoh stressed that justice would be pursued without fear or favour, irrespective of an individual’s social status, position or class. He also assured that the Zone 2 Command would continue to strengthen its security operations and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property and maintain public order.
The Zone 2 Headquarters further reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for residents of Lagos and Ogun States, through professional policing, stakeholder engagement and effective discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
