Public affairs analysts have called on the Federal Government to adopt proactive measures in tackling insecurity by strengthening intelligence systems and safeguarding classified security information.
The call was made during a newspaper review monitored by SBS FM reporter, Uthman Salaudeen.
The analysts’ position follows concerns raised by Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, over alleged leaks of sensitive information on troop movements.
Barrister Abdulhameed Ayyatullah stressed the need for stricter control of classified data, warning that exposing troop movements poses serious threats to national security.
“There will be no life or country without security,” he said, while commending the sacrifices of security agencies, particularly the armed forces.
On his part, Comrade Moshood Lanre highlighted the growing importance of technology in modern security operations, urging the Federal Government to deploy advanced tools to improve intelligence gathering and response.
He also called on the National Assembly to consider the establishment of state policing structures to strengthen local security architecture.
The analysts maintained that effective security reforms and political stability remain critical to improving governance and restoring public confidence.
