APC Groups in Ilorin West Support Bolarinwa’s 2027 Kwara Governorship Race

Political support groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State — the home council of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq — have urged former State Party Chairman, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, to contest the 2027 governorship election.

The Ilorin West Grassroots Caucus (IWGC), in a statement issued on Tuesday, described Bolarinwa as a bridge-builder with the experience and leadership capacity to promote unity and sustainable development across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the caucus, its Coordinator, Alhaji Mashood Taiye Beki, said the appeal reflects growing grassroots confidence in Bolarinwa’s leadership maturity and people-oriented style.

According to the group, Kwara State is at a critical juncture that requires visionary and inclusive leadership focused on long-term development rather than personal interests.

The caucus highlighted Bolarinwa’s track record of discipline, fairness, and adherence to democratic principles, noting his role in fostering cooperation across the three senatorial districts. It also cited his support for party unity initiatives and alignment with the APC-led administration of Governor AbdulRazaq, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership at the national level.

Similarly, the Ilorin West chapter of the B.O.B Progressive Movement declared its support for Bolarinwa’s potential candidacy, urging him to vie for the governorship in 2027.

The movement stated that his political philosophy transcends ethnic and sectional considerations, emphasizing fairness, ethics, and inclusiveness. It further commended what it described as his humility and calm disposition despite years of political engagement.

Both groups maintained that their appeal was driven by what they termed the broader interest of Kwara State, expressing confidence that experienced leadership anchored on integrity and competence would advance the state’s development agenda.

Signatories to the statements include Alhaji Mashood Taiye Beki; Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Dado (Ogidi Ward); Engr. Ridwon Lekan (Ubandawaki Ward); Engr.
