The Nigerian Army has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Lieutenant Samson Haruna, an officer of the 2 Brigade Headquarters in Akwa Ibom State.
Haruna reportedly died at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital after sustaining severe burns from a fire incident that occurred on September 22, 2025.
In a statement released in Uyo on Friday, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Lawal Muhammad, said the probe aims to uncover the cause of the incident and ensure transparency.
He added that the findings would be made public once the investigation is concluded.
