Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Sarauniyar Yaki — meaning Queen Warrior — by the Lamido Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, in Gombe State.
The title, bestowed during her two-day working visit to the state, recognises her “passion for defending the interest of the weak across the nation.”
Acknowledging the honour, Mrs Tinubu pledged to sustain her advocacy for the girl-child and urged traditional rulers to support her initiatives aimed at empowering women and vulnerable groups.
The event was attended by Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, House of Representatives Chief Whip Usman Bello Kumo, and other dignitaries.
