Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that his conversion from Christianity to Islam has not given him the fulfilment he sought.
In a recent interview with streamer Playboymax, the artiste said his decision was driven by a desire to find truth and enlightenment, but his continued research into religious texts has left him even more confused.
“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.
Burna Boy added that his spiritual journey remains ongoing as he continues to search for personal truth and understanding.
His comments come months after fellow Nigerian singer, 9ice, disclosed that he embraced the Ifa religion following what he described as a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months.
