Experts Call for Urgent Government Action as Banditry and Kidnapping Escalate

The persistent rise in banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism across Nigeria has been attributed to government inaction and corruption, according to legal expert and university lecturer, Dr. Ayuba Jabaje.

Speaking on today’s episode of Newspaper Review and Analysis on SBS 96.9 FM, Dr. Jabaje emphasized the urgent need for the government to prioritize the welfare and safety of its citizens.

“The problem of insecurity is deeply rooted in governmental inactivity and widespread corruption. It is high time the welfare of citizens is made a top priority,” Dr. Jabaje stated, as reported by SBS FM correspondent Oluwatosin Babatunde.

Echoing similar concerns, policy analyst Comrade Olaitan Arije has called for the declaration of a state of emergency in the country’s security sector. He stressed that drastic measures are necessary to curb the growing insecurity threatening communities nationwide.

Both experts highlighted that the government must take immediate and decisive action to restore public confidence and protect citizens from the escalating threat of criminal activities.

The discussion on SBS 96.9 FM comes amid growing national concern over the increasing frequency of attacks by bandits and armed groups, which have disrupted lives and communities across several states.
