Governor AbdulRazaq Hails Tinubu as 38 Eruku Abductees Regain Freedom

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a decisive, hands-on intervention that led to the release of 38 kidnapped worshippers from Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.

The victims, abducted during a recent attack on the church, regained their freedom on Sunday after days of intense security operations involving multiple agencies.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor said the successful rescue was “wholly due to the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR,” noting that the President personally coordinated efforts to secure the victims’ release.

According to the statement, President Tinubu had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to address the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi states. He also ordered increased security deployment to Kwara, including four new tactical police teams.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force for what he called a coordinated and relentless rescue effort.

He also thanked security personnel on the ground, community leaders, religious institutions and residents of the state for their support and solidarity throughout the ordeal.

The Governor assured that the state government will continue to work with security agencies to enhance safety and prevent further attacks.
