Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday held a marathon security council meeting to assess ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening public safety across the state.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor met with top security commanders and key government officials at the Government House in Ilorin.
Those in attendance included representatives from the Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, DSS, NSCDC, Immigration Service, NDLEA, and the Office of the National Security Adviser — alongside senior state officials such as the Secretary to the State Government and the Attorney General.
The meeting featured detailed briefings on ongoing operations across the state — including multiple arrests, active prosecutions, and the interception of arms believed to be in the hands of hostile non-state actors.
Governor AbdulRazaq praised the security operatives for their dedication and sacrifice, stressing that they deserve full public and institutional support.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and to provide timely and actionable intelligence to security agencies in order to maintain peace and safety in the state.
