Grammy-nominated Nigerian producer Oluwaseyi Akerele, popularly known as Shizzi, has officially launched his own record label:OBG Records (Ordained By God), marking what he calls a new era for African music built on legacy, purpose, and discovery.
With over a billion streams to his name, Shizzi’s production fingerprints run through the DNA of modern Afrobeats. He is the creative mind behind major hits like Davido’s “Dami Duro,” Wizkid’s “Love My Baby,” Wande Coal’s “Baby Face,” and collaborations with global stars including Beyoncé, Chris Brown, and Fireboy DML.
Reflecting on his journey from a church drummer to one of Afrobeats’ most influential architects, Shizzi said his story, like his sound, is “raw, spiritual, and borderless.”
The new label, he added, aims to nurture emerging African talent and expand the continent’s musical footprint on the global stage.
