The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has assured the Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Dr Mohammed Jimoh Abdul, of its continuous support, prayers and cooperation following his reinstatement by the Visitor to the institution and Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.
The assurance was given on Wednesday when the National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, led a delegation of the National Executive Council on a solidarity visit to the Rector in his office.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who was represented by the Union’s National Vice President, Alhaji AbdulRauf Babatunde Issa, congratulated Dr Abdul on what he described as his well-deserved reinstatement, expressing confidence in his leadership and capacity to move the institution forward.
He described Kwara State Polytechnic as not only the oldest institution of higher learning in Ilorin and Kwara State, but also one of the most influential tertiary institutions in Nigeria, noting that its graduates continue to make significant contributions both locally and internationally.
The IEDPU president also commended the Governor of Kwara State, principal officers, management staff, workers and students of the institution for maintaining peace and ensuring continuity during the Rector’s absence.
He wished Dr Abdul a successful and impactful tenure.
In his response, the Rector expressed appreciation to the union for the visit and solidarity, as well as gratitude to the state government and other stakeholders for their support.
Dr Abdul, who was accompanied by several management staff of the Polytechnic, assured the union and the wider stakeholder community of his readiness to work collaboratively with all parties to further develop the institution.
He reaffirmed his commitment to taking Kwara State Polytechnic to greater heights in academic excellence and institutional growth.
