Kaiama Horror: Analyst Warns Deployment Alone Won’t Stop Kwara Violence

The recent Kaiama Massacre has thrust Kwara State’s security challenges into the national spotlight. Com Olaitan Arije, a policy analyst and social commentator, is urging both federal and state governments to take proactive measures instead of relying solely on reactive deployments.

Speaking on today’s episode of Newspaper Review and Analysis, Arije emphasized that sending police or military forces to troubled communities, while necessary in the short term, cannot serve as a lasting solution.

“The real solution lies in addressing the root causes of violence,” Arije said. He highlighted the importance of intelligence-led operations, community engagement, and sustainable social programs to prevent further tragedies.

The Kaiama incident has left residents fearful and mourning, underlining the urgent need for comprehensive strategies that restore safety and peace to vulnerable communities across Kwara State.
