Kano Assembly Calls on State Govt to Respond to US Sanctions Threat Against Kwankwaso

By Oluwatoyin Makinde

The Kano State House of Assembly has urged the state government to intervene urgently following reports that the United States may sanction NNPP leader, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, over alleged anti-Christian positions.

US legislators reportedly described Kwankwaso as anti-Christian and linked him to terrorism financing, proposing the freezing of his assets and bank accounts.

The Assembly’s resolution followed a motion by Usman Tasiu (Kiru Constituency) during plenary presided over by Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore.

Tasiu described Kwankwaso as a committed public servant whose administration promoted peace, supported education, and advanced infrastructure for both Christians and Muslims in Kano State.
