Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Managing Director of the Katsina State Water Board, Engr. Tukur Tingilin, who died in a road accident on Thursday.
Tingilin was reportedly involved in an auto crash that claimed his life, throwing the state into mourning.
In a condolence message issued on Friday through his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, Governor Radda described the development as a devastating loss, particularly at a time when the administration was ramping up efforts to improve water supply across communities.
The governor paid tribute to the late Water Board boss, commending his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service.
“Governor Radda described the death as a rude shock, noting that Engr. Tingilin’s leadership as Managing Director of the State Water Board was marked by selfless service to the people, even until his last breath,” the statement read.
It added that under Tingilin’s guidance, efforts to expand access to clean and safe water across the state were significantly intensified and sustained.
Radda also noted that the deceased passed on during the holy month of Ramadan, describing him as a faithful Muslim.
On behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, the governor extended condolences to Tingilin’s family and the people of Malumfashi Local Government Area, praying to Allah to grant them strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
