KWACCIMA elects Ibraheem Yinka Yahaya as 1st Deputy President

The Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) has announced the emergence of Alhaji Ibraheem Yinka Yahaya as its new 1st Deputy President following the voluntary resignation of the former office holder.

The decision was reached at a duly constituted Council meeting of the Chamber, where Yahaya secured the majority of votes cast.

In a statement signed by the Chamber’s Public Relations Officer, Hajia Alaaya Rukayat, the Council said his emergence reflects members’ confidence in his leadership capacity and wealth of experience.

Alhaji Yahaya, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), has over four decades of experience in investment banking, stockbroking, and public sector leadership.

He has held several top executive roles, including serving as a pioneer Group Executive Director at Harmony Holdings Ltd and Executive Vice Chairman of KCC Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He is currently the Executive Chairman of YY Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited.

The statement added that he holds academic and professional qualifications from institutions such as Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom; the London School of Economics; and Lagos Business School.

Beyond his professional career, Yahaya is described as a community leader who serves on the boards of notable organisations, including Fountain University, Osogbo, and is actively involved in socio-cultural and religious activities within the Ilorin Emirate.

Until his election, he served as the Internal Auditor of the Chamber.

KWACCIMA congratulated Yahaya on his emergence and expressed optimism that his leadership would strengthen the Chamber and advance private sector development in Kwara State.
