Kwara Traditional Leaders Offer Prayers for APC Candidates During Thank-You Tour

Traditional rulers in Asa and Ilorin West local government areas of Kwara State on Saturday offered prayers for the success of All Progressives Congress candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The traditional rulers gave the prayers during a thank-you visit by the APC candidates, which marked the commencement of the party’s tour of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

The tour began in Afon, headquarters of Asa Local Government Area, where the party’s governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi Salihu, led the team to meet government officials, traditional chiefs, religious leaders and party stakeholders.

At the first stop, the District Head of Balah, Alhaji Kolapo Abdulkadir, who spoke on behalf of other district heads, prayed for the electoral success of Danladi and other APC candidates.

Similarly, an APC elder in Asa Local Government Area, Alhaji Issa Amasa, described Danladi as a man of integrity, humility and competence, while urging him to remain accessible to the people if elected.

Also, the Chairman of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority and an indigene of Asa, Alhaji Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa, said the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration were partly attributable to the support it received from the legislative arm.

Meanwhile, the member of the House of Representatives representing Ilorin West and Asa Federal Constituency, Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, expressed confidence that all APC candidates would win the 2027 elections, saying Kwara residents would not want to return to the past.

In Ilorin West, the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr. Usman Abubakar Atolagbe Jos, who received the delegation on behalf of the Emir of Ilorin, commended the visit as a show of respect for the traditional institution, while Danladi thanked traditional and religious leaders and party stakeholders for their support and expressed confidence in the party’s victory, also commending President Bola Tinubu for what he described as stability and progress in the country.
