By Oluwatosin Babatunde

A legal expert, Barrister Abdulhamid Hayyatullah Oniwiridi, has called on residents of Kwara State not to shield or hide criminals but to promptly report them to law enforcement agencies.

Speaking on SBS FM’s weekly Yoruba security program, “Abo Ilu,” closely monitored by SBS FM reporter Oluwatosin Babatunde, Barrister Oniwiridi emphasized that community cooperation remains key to tackling insecurity in the state.

He urged the Kwara State Government to develop a mobile application that would enable citizens to report crimes and suspicious activities directly without the need to visit a police station physically.

The legal practitioner also appealed to the state government to provide more logistics support to security agencies to enhance their operational effectiveness.

In addition, he encouraged residents to respect and commend security operatives for their efforts and called for the establishment of a Security Trust Fund to sustain and strengthen security initiatives across the state.
