The newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), arrived at the commission’s headquarters at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday to formally assume office.
Amupitan’s arrival comes hours after he was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The new INEC boss is expected to hold his first meeting with national commissioners and directors as he begins his tenure overseeing Nigeria’s electoral body.
