The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has joined in celebrating Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and his bride, Sharon Ifunanya, following their much-talked-about wedding held aboard a moving train, describing the ceremony as “a remarkable and historic moment in Nigeria’s transportation and entertainment history.”
Reacting to viral videos from the event, the NRC, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, commended the couple for their creativity and innovation.
The newlyweds exchanged vows aboard a decorated Lagos–Ibadan train, which departed from the Mobolaji Johnson Station in Alagomeji-Yaba, Lagos, with one of the train’s coaches transformed into a stunning wedding venue.
The setup featured floral decorations, bridesmaids, groomsmen, guests, and officiating ministers — turning the trip into a blend of romance and adventure.
The event has since captured public attention across social media, with many praising it as a refreshing take on Nigerian weddings and a testament to the fusion of art, love, and innovation.
Among those spotted at the ceremony were Nollywood stars Stan Nze and his wife, Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze, as well as actor Buchi Franklin, who joined other guests in celebrating the couple’s unique love story.
