Police arrest two suspects over alleged kidnapping in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspects over their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of three persons in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala, were arrested following intelligence-led investigations linking them to the abduction of the victims at Ogele Fulani Camp, near Igbaja.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the suspects were being investigated for criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping, and kidnapping.

She said the suspects were assisting the police with useful information, while efforts had been intensified to apprehend other members of the alleged criminal syndicate.

“The relentless pursuit of criminal elements and everyone connected to their activities continues to yield tangible results,” the statement read.

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo, assured residents that the command remained committed to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes through intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention.

He urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations across the state.
