Ronaldo Flees Saudi Arabia for Madrid Amid Middle East Strikes

Cristiano Ronaldo, captain and forward of Al-Nassr, has left Saudi Arabia for Madrid following escalating tensions in the Middle East after US-Israeli strikes in Iran.

The 41-year-old departed Riyadh late Monday aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet, according to the Daily Mail. He was reportedly accompanied by his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children. Flightradar24 confirmed the jet left Riyadh at 8:00 pm and arrived in Madrid around 1:00 am, flying over Egypt and the Mediterranean.

Ronaldo’s departure comes amid regional unrest after the US-Israeli air campaign in Iran on February 28, 2026, which killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior officials. Iranian state media declared 40 days of mourning and a seven-day national holiday.

Saudi Arabia was also affected by the regional conflict, with two drones hitting the US Embassy in Riyadh, causing a limited fire and minor material damage, the Saudi Ministry of Defence confirmed.

Ronaldo’s move highlights concern over civilian safety in the region as tensions continue to escalate.
