Former President of the Senate and Peoples Democratic Party leader in Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, has announced Engineer Kale Kawu as the party’s consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
Saraki disclosed this in a statement shared on his verified Facebook page.
He said the decision followed extensive consultations with party stakeholders and leading governorship aspirants across the state.
According to him, the consensus arrangement was reached to strengthen party unity and position the PDP strongly ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Saraki commended aspirants who stepped down in support of the consensus candidate, describing their action as a demonstration of commitment to the party’s collective interest.
He said the cooperation and sacrifice shown by party members reflected a shared determination to ensure the PDP’s success in the forthcoming election.
The former Senate President added that the spirit of unity and selflessness within the party would further strengthen the PDP’s chances in Kwara State ahead of 2027.
