A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chief Executive Officer of Taju Audu and Co. Chartered Accountants, Abuja, Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Makama, FCA, will lead dignitaries at the launch of The Sovereign Soil, a book authored by Dr. A.Y. Mumeen.
Makama, who will serve as Chief Launcher, has confirmed attendance for the event scheduled for May 30, 2026, at the Ilorin Innovation Hub in Kwara State.
The event is expected to attract key figures in agriculture, governance and academia.
Among dignitaries expected are the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Sabi Abdullahi; Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi; Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe; Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola; and Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI), Badeggi.
The Emir of Ilorin will be represented by the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, who will serve as Royal Father of the Day.
Other personalities expected as Special Co-Launchers include Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, Hon. Sherif Shagaya, Dr. Lukman Mustapha, Barrister Majeed Oloriegbe, Asiwaju Bayi Eleranegbe and the Clerk of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Mallam Ahmed Olayiwola Kareem.
Also expected at the event are Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa; Dr. M.N. Ishaq; Executive Director of NCRI, Badeggi; Engr. Dr. Y.S. Ademiluyi, Executive Director of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM); and Lateef Sanni of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Ilorin.
The intellectual session will feature Prof. Sidikat Aderinoye-Abdulwahab as keynote speaker, while Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye will serve as book discussant. Folashade Aransiola will handle the book presentation.
Organisers said the launch of The Sovereign Soil will bring together stakeholders to discuss food security, national development and the future of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
