TeamSBS on Wednesday recorded an impressive 5–3 victory over TeamMO in a thrilling friendly football match played at the Intercontinental Harmony Hotels Pitch, Olunlade area of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The keenly contested encounter formed part of a sports initiative organised by Play with Kwara Youths, aimed at promoting unity, fitness and sportsmanship among young professionals in the state.
According to SBS 96.9 FM correspondent, Imam Abdulwaheed, who witnessed the match, both teams delivered an entertaining performance marked by pace, skill and attacking football. However, TeamSBS showed superior coordination, composure and finishing, which ultimately proved decisive.
TeamMO mounted strong resistance and fought back at different stages of the game, but TeamSBS maintained their rhythm and capitalised on scoring opportunities to seal the win.
The Chairman of SBS 96.9 FM, who also sponsors TeamSBS, was present at the pitch to cheer the team. His presence, observers noted, boosted the morale of the players and added to the excitement of the occasion.
The match attracted football enthusiasts and members of the host community, who turned out in good numbers to witness the friendly showdown.
Organisers described the event as part of ongoing efforts to use sports as a tool for youth engagement, healthy competition and community bonding in Ilorin.
