Osun State Governor, Ademola AdAdeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election, Secures Second Termeleke, has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election held on Saturday.
The State Returning Officer, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, declared the result at about 7:24 a.m. on Sunday.
Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor secured victory in 19 of the 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11 local governments.
Following the announcement, the Returning Officer declared Adeleke duly elected and returned him to office for another term.
Adeleke recorded victories in Ede North, Ede South, Ejigbo, Iwo, Egbedore, Ife North, Ife East, Ife Central, Oriade, Ifelodun, Orolu, Ayedaade, Ayedire, Odo Otin, Boluwaduro, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Osogbo and other local government areas listed in the results.
The outcome brings an end to the closely watched Osun governorship contest, which attracted significant attention ahead of the 2027 general elections.
