Alaro Family Raises Concern Over Alleged Defamation of Bukola Saraki, Considers Legal Action

The Alaro Family has raised concerns over alleged defamation of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, blaming the State Government for tarnishing his image.

Addressing a press conference in Ilorin on Saturday, on behalf of the family, Alhaji Muritala Saka Alaro condemned efforts to link Saraki to the 2018 Offa robbery for political reasons, insisting that existing evidence has cleared him and that continued references amount to persecution.

SBS FM correspondent Sunmoni Bukola, reports that the family stated it would pursue legal action to protect its reputation, regardless of Saraki’s personal response.

According to Alaro Family, It emphasized the contributions of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki family to political development, human capital growth, and economic advancement in Kwara State, describing their legacy as firmly established.

Muritala Alaro also dismissed claims questioning Saraki’s indigene status as unfounded and divisive, warning that such narratives could threaten peace in Kwara State. He emphasized that politics should not become a battlefield.

The family called on key stakeholders, including the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), to take a more active role in safeguarding unity and justice against what it described as defamatory conduct, while reaffirming its commitment to peace and lawful resolution in Ilorin Emirates
