Kwara APC Chairman Fagbemi Re-elected, Thanks Tinubu and AbdulRazaq

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Sunday Fagbemi, has been re-elected to lead the party for another term. His affirmation, alongside other executive members, took place on Tuesday at the party’s State Congress in Ilorin.

Addressing delegates and party leaders, Fagbemi described his re-election as a rare privilege and thanked members for their renewed mandate. He also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“I specially acknowledge the support and goodwill of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, and my Governor and leader of our party in the state, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. On behalf of my executive committee, I thank the people of Kwara State for their support for our party, our Governor and our President,” he said.

Fagbemi vowed to consolidate the party’s developmental strides and strengthen its democratic foothold ahead of the 2027 general elections. He highlighted achievements under the current administration, noting that 586.09 kilometres of roads have been constructed or rehabilitated, 8,912 teachers recruited, minimum wage adjustments implemented, and N50,000 social security stipends paid to about 10,000 senior citizens.

On security, he reassured residents: “Together, we will defeat terrorism and sheer criminality such as abduction for ransom.”

The APC in Kwara State also reviewed party progress and began preparations for upcoming political activities, including primaries, during Tuesday’s state congress.
