Dr Azeez-Salako Muideen Olaniyi has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
Salako, who is the Global President of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), confirmed this after completing the process, reaffirming his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership at all levels.
The governorship aspirant, who also holds the traditional title of Aare Maiyegun of Offa and serves as Director General of the Federation of Artisans, Associations and Traders for Asiwaju and Shettima, expressed appreciation to party stakeholders and supporters for their backing.
He said his ambition is rooted in years of grassroots mobilisation and diaspora engagement, positioning himself as an advocate for economic inclusion and small-scale enterprise development.
Salako had earlier unveiled his campaign slogan, “Kwara Will Be Great Again,” built around the mantra “Salako De, Alaafia De, Aseyori De,” which he said reflects his vision of peace, prosperity and shared progress.
On party processes, he endorsed the adoption of direct primaries within the APC, noting that it would strengthen internal democracy and expand participation among party members.
He also stressed the need for unity and inclusiveness within the party, pledging to prioritise purposeful governance and accelerated development if elected governor.
