The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Benin Zonal Directorate, has secured the conviction of five persons for Naira abuse.
The convictions were secured on Tuesday, October 20, before Justice Olufunmilola A. Agbaje of the Federal High Court in Asaba, Delta State, and Justice (Professor) C. A. Obiozor of the Federal High Court in Benin City.
The convicts were identified as Bright Orodu, Shedrack Osemegie, Gospel Gabriel, Kelvin Samson and Imagbe Israel Imafidion.
The development highlights the EFCC’s continued efforts to address the abuse of the Nigerian currency.
The commission disclosed the development through its official X handle, where it shared details of the convictions.
